Continuing with this winter's re-seating work, the last of the floor repairs and other miscellaneous jobs are being completed before the seat frames are fitted. Meanwhile, the seat backs and bases are with the trimmer and are expected back by May.
The heater units have been refurbished, refitted and tested. Detailed aluminium trim is being fitted around wheel arches and other fittings.
The rear screens were recently taken out and the same material which will cover the seats has been fitted around the rear interior of the coach.
A trial fitting of the new seat frames has also taken place. All 28 are shortly to go through the painting process prior to final fitting.
And finally this month, many hands make light work: a group of staff recently lifted down the luggage rack to refit it to its original, more central position. The rack again now doubles as a grab rail, re-fulfilling part of its original function. The 1961 fitting points were relocated, whilst the 1971 positions fitted with blanking bolts.
