PUF161H - June 2014

The engine refurbishment continues apace. The water pump has recently been overhauled, including replacement of main shaft, plus all bearings and seals. The finished item is seen below, and will be stored pending the engine being reassembled.

Meanwhile, the cylinder heads are being attended to and the valves re-ground.

We've temporarily taken-off the passenger doors for periodic maintenance. Seen here after receiving a coat of varnish, the doors will be reunited with the bus once dry.

749DCD - June 2014

Coach 1749 just been brought brought out of winter storage and is currently undergoing MOT preparation. It's first private hire since its full restoration is planned for the 21st June in the Winchester area. However, one small leftover job form last year was the laying of the lino and fixing the polished wooded slats in the luggage boot. This has now been completed and as can be seen the result is rather pleasing.

LUF828 - June 2014

Thanks to a generous doner, we are lucky to have secured the correct pattern of clock, which we have had restored by a traditional repairer based in Uckfield. The clock is seen sitting in the polished wood mounting, renovated in our own workshops. We very much look forward to the day when the clock will be fitted at the front of the coach.
